United Nations- The U.N. humanitarian chief said Friday he is "deeply disturbed" by the reported 47 civilian deaths in Saudi-led coalition airstrikes that hit a wedding party this week.

Stephen O'Brien's statement cites Yemeni health authorities in saying another 35 people were wounded, including many women and children.

He called for a swift, transparent and impartial investigation, saying that "with modern weapons technology, there is little excuse for error."

Wednesday's attack follows last week's coalition airstrikes on another a wedding party that killed more than 130 people in the deadliest single event of Yemen's civil war.

Aid groups and others are alarmed by the civilian death toll in Yemen's conflict. O'Brien says about 4,500 civilians were reportedly killed or injured by explosive weapons in the first seven months of this year.
