Fighting intensifies in Taiz hours after UN-brokered truce

SANA'A, July 11-Heavy clashes are ongoing on Al-Siteen Street of Taiz as resounding explosion shake the area, local sources said.

This escalation comes hours after the UN-brokered ceasefire took into effect.

According to the sources, three resistance fighters have been killed in the clashes including Qais Al-Sharabi, a leading resistance fighter.

The sources said both sides have used tanks and artillery as the resistance fighters attempt to hold full control of Al-Siteen Street.

Fighting in Taiz has been continuing for over three months, leaving hundreds of deaths and injuries and thousands have been displaced.
