Yemen’s Ministry of Health of the UN-recognized government said more than 18,555 medical personnel and elderly people have received the Coronavirus vaccine in the governorates under its control. Director of the Corona Vaccine Project, Dr. Ali Al-Walidi, said that 7756 health workers, 6745 elderly and 4000 patients with chronic diseases were vaccinated in 57 districts. He indicated that the Covid-19 vaccination drive will continue after Eid Al Fitr holiday through 8 main centers in Aden and the main centers in the districts of the rest of the governorates, adding that new vaccination sites will be added. Yemen received its first shipment of COVID-19 vaccines in March. The AstraZeneca vaccines have enabled health workers and other populations vulnerable to COVID-19 to be protected against the virus. |
