Two civilians were shot dead by unidentified armed men late on Friday in Seyoun city, a district in the Yemeni eastern governorate of Hadhramout, local sources said.

The assassins were on Hilux when opened fire at the two victims who were driving their Land Cruiser pickup outside the water corporation in Seyoun, according to eyewitnesses.

The two murdered men, Naji Nasser al-Marqashi and his son Suleiman, are from the southern governorate of Abyan, security source said on condition of anonymity.

The murder motive is likely linked to a previous tribal revenge, the source added.

Security authorities are currently probing the incident to find out its ambiguous circumstances and know and catch the assassins, he said.

Seyoun is one of the few eastern cities that are under the Yemeni official government's control in Hadhramout.
