Protests erupted Tuesday in Aden, denouncing the deteriorating public services including electricity, poor living conditions and the continuing currency decline.
Hundreds of citizens roamed the streets in Aden, calling for improvement in the electricity service and urging urgent measures to address the rising price of basic commodities.
The protesters demanded the departure of the Southern Transitional Council (STC). They set tires on fire, blocked main roads that lead to the Central Bank of Yemen, and prevented the passage of vehicles.
Seven years of war in Yemen have ruined the country’s economy, and multitudes of civilians do not have sufficient access to public services such as power, fuel and water.
